Sandwich Lantern has been handcrafting colonial lighting fixtures since 1987. Originated by the owner of a local Cape Cod lighting store who wanted colonial reproductions at prices most homeowners could afford, small changes to authentic styles were made resulting in lighting fixtures that enhance the appearance of every home.
Since 1989 the company shop has been located in the Sandwich Industrial Park about 2 ½ miles from the center of historic Sandwich Massachussetts and we have recently opened a showroom in Sandwich Village. Sandwich Lantern is a family owned and operated business. Come visit or give us a call; we don't bite and won't give you a sales pitch.
Today Sandwich Lantern produces a wide range of colonial fixtures and chandeliers. Authentic reproductions and custom work can also be done to individual specifications based on your drawing or photo.

Some Addition Notes on the Original Colonial Fixtures
Original Colonial Fixtures before Revere developed copper production in the U.S. were made of Tin. Good looking, they unfortunately did not survive long in the New England climate. 'Glass' was limited to either eisenglass (mica) found locally or lanthrone - transparent panels made from the finely shaved horns of farm animals. Needless to say, not much light from a candle!
Today we use solid copper and solid brass materials that will stand the test of time. Impervious to salt air and harsh envirnoments they weather gracefully never needing maintenance nor attention.
