Real copper is used and weathers to the color of an old
penny (a real penny!).
Additionally...
We do not recommend lacquering. Over time the lacquer
wears, the lantern darkens in a spotty finish until the lacquer is completely
gone. This is accelerated near coastal areas, or high smog areas. Customers
become unhappy with their fixtures and grumpy at us.
We don't care for grumpy.
